Related Product Information for anti-SYNGR1 antibody
SYNGR1 Antibody: Synaptogyrins comprise a family of tyrosine-phosphorylated membrane proteins with two neuronal (SYNGR1 and SYNGR3) and one ubiquitous (SYNGR2) members. SYNGR1 and -3 are synaptic vesicle proteins, residing in some cases on the same synaptic vesicle, and are thought to be involved in the regulation of neurotransmitter release. SYNGR2, by contrast, is absent from synaptic vesicles. The role and localization of a fourth synaptogyrin, SYNGR4, is unclear. The gene for SYNGR1is located at chromosome 22q13, a region linked to schizophrenia; however, there is mixed evidence suggesting that mutations in SYNGR1 might be associated with schizophrenia.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes an integral membrane protein associated with presynaptic vesicles in neuronal cells. The exact function of this protein is unclear, but studies of a similar murine protein suggest that it functions in synaptic plasticity without being required for synaptic transmission. The gene product belongs to the synaptogyrin gene family. Three alternatively spliced variants encoding three different isoforms have been identified. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

SYNGR1: Involved in the regulation of short-term and long-term synaptic plasticity. Belongs to the synaptogyrin family. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Vesicle; Membrane protein, integral; Membrane protein, multi-pass

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 22q13.1

Cellular Component: synaptic vesicle membrane; melanosome; integral to membrane; neuromuscular junction; cell junction

Biological Process: regulation of long-term neuronal synaptic plasticity; regulation of short-term neuronal synaptic plasticity; protein targeting

Product Notes

The SYNGR1 syngr1 (Catalog #AAA151196) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The SYNGR1 Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's SYNGR1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunofluorescence (IF). SYNGR1 antibody can be used for detection of SYNGR1 by Western blot at 1 mug/mL. Antibody can also be used for immunohistochemistry starting at 2.5 mug/mL. For immunofluorescence start at 20 mug/mL. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the SYNGR1 syngr1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "SYNGR1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
