Goat STS2/TULA Polyclonal Antibody | anti-UBASH3A antibody
Goat anti-STS2/TULA (internal) Antibody
Immunohistochemistry: In paraffin embedded Human Spleen shows cytoplasm staining of T-cells eccentrically gathered around an artery. Recommended concentration, 2.5ug/ml.
Western Blot: Preliminary experiments gave an approx 48kDa band in lysates of B-cell line Daudi after 0.1ug/ml antibody staining. Please note that currently we cannot find an explanation in the literature for the band we observe given the calculated size of 74.1kDa according to NP_061834.1 and 69.8kDa according to NP_001001895.1. The 48kDa band was successfully blocked by incubation with the immunizing peptide.
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
This gene encodes one of two family members belonging to the T-cell ubiquitin ligand (TULA) family. Both family members can negatively regulate T-cell signaling. This family member can facilitate growth factor withdrawal-induced apoptosis in T cells, which may occur via its interaction with AIF, an apoptosis-inducing factor. Alternative splicing of this gene results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2011]
Uniprot Description
STS2: Interferes with CBL-mediated down-regulation and degradation of receptor-type tyrosine kinases. Promotes accumulation of activated target receptors, such as T-cell receptors, EGFR and PDGFRB, on the cell surface. Exhibits negligigle protein tyrosine phosphatase activity at neutral pH. May act as a dominant-negative regulator of UBASH3B-dependent dephosphorylation. May inhibit dynamin-dependent endocytic pathways by functionally sequestering dynamin via its SH3 domain. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.
Protein type: Protein phosphatase, tyrosine (non-receptor)
Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 21q22.3
Cellular Component: cytosol; nucleus
Molecular Function: protein binding
Biological Process: negative regulation of T cell receptor signaling pathway; regulation of cytokine production

Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the UBASH3A ubash3a for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The amino acid sequence is listed below: QQCSTPDGKY YRPD. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "STS2/TULA, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
