Related Product Information for anti-Stat antibody
Signal Transducer and Activator of Transcription 2 (STAT2) is a 98kD member of the STAT family of cytoplasmic transcription factors. STAT members generally mediate cytokine, growth factor and hormone receptor signal transduction. STAT2 is associated with type I (a and b--) interferon signaling. All STATs contain an N-terminal oligomerization domain, a DNA-binding domain, and an SH2-association region. STAT2 is phosphorylated at Y689 by receptor-associated Janus kinases (JAKs) leading to STAT2 dimerization and subsequent translocation to the nucleus to activate gene transcription.

Uniprot Description

Function: Signal transduction and activation of transcription. Plays an important role in the segmental pattern formation in the early embryo by activating specific stripes of pair rule gene expression

By similarity. The STAT pathway directly participates in immune responses in insects. Ref.1

Subunit structure: Forms a homodimer or a heterodimer with a related family member

By similarity.

Subcellular location: Cytoplasm

By similarity. Nucleus

By similarity. Note: Translocated into the nucleus in response to phosphorylation

By similarity.

Tissue specificity: Expressed in hemocytes, pericardial cells, midgut, skeletal muscle and fat body cells. Ref.1

Developmental stage: Expressed at all developmental stages. Ref.1

Induction: Bacterial challenge results in nuclear translocation in fat body cells and induction of DNA-binding activity that recognizes a STAT target site. In vitro treatment with pervanadate (vanadate and H2O2) translocates protein to the nucleus in midgut epithelial cells. Ref.1

Sequence similarities: Belongs to the transcription factor STAT family.Contains 1 SH2 domain.

Product Notes

The STAT 2, phosphorlated stat (Catalog #AAA615901) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The STAT 2, phosphorlated (Tyr689) (Signal Transducer and Activator of Transcription 2) (Carboxyfluorescein) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's STAT 2, phosphorlated can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS). Suitable for use in Flow Cytometry. Dilution: Flow Cytometry: Use 10ul to label 5x10e5 cells. Excitation: 488nm Emission: 515-545nm. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the STAT 2, phosphorlated stat for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "STAT 2, phosphorlated, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
