Related Product Information for anti-STARD13 antibody
This gene encodes a protein that contains a sterile alpha motif domain in the N-terminus, an ATP/GTP-binding motif, a GTPase-activating protein domain, and a STAR-related lipid transfer domain in the C-terminus. The gene is located in a region of chromosome 13 that has loss of heterozygosity in hepatic cancer. At least three alternatively spliced transcript variants have been described for this gene.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a protein which contains an N-terminal sterile alpha motif (SAM) for protein-protein interactions, followed by an ATP/GTP-binding motif, a GTPase-activating protein (GAP) domain, and a C-terminal STAR-related lipid transfer (START) domain. It may be involved in regulation of cytoskeletal reorganization, cell proliferation, and cell motility, and acts as a tumor suppressor in hepatoma cells. The gene is located in a region of chromosome 13 that is associated with loss of heterozygosity in hepatocellular carcinomas. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been described for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2011]

Uniprot Description

STARD13: GTPase-activating protein for RhoA, and perhaps for Cdc42. May be involved in regulation of cytoskeletal reorganization, cell proliferation and cell motility. Acts a tumor suppressor in hepatocellular carcinoma cells. 5 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Motility/polarity/chemotaxis; Tumor suppressor; GAPs; GAPs, Rac/Rho

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 13q13.1

Cellular Component: mitochondrial membrane; lipid particle; cytosol

Molecular Function: protein binding; lipid binding; GTPase activator activity

Biological Process: regulation of small GTPase mediated signal transduction; small GTPase mediated signal transduction; positive regulation of GTPase activity

Product Notes

The STARD13 stard13 (Catalog #AAA6351755) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The STARD13, ID (STARD13, DLC2, GT650, StAR-related lipid transfer protein 13, 46H23.2, Deleted in liver cancer 2 protein, Rho GTPase-activating protein, START domain-containing protein 13) (FITC) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's STARD13 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), FLISA. WB: 1:100-500 FLISA: 1:1,000 Applications are based on unconjugated antibody. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the STARD13 stard13 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "STARD13, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
