Western Blot (WB)
(Western Blot analysis in HL-60 cell line lysates (35ug/lane) usingMBS6001893. This demonstrates that MBS6001893 detected the SPECC1 protein (arrow).)
Western Blot (WB)
(Western Blot analysis in mouse NIH-3T3 cell line lysates (35ug/lane) usingMBS6001893. This demonstrates that MBS6001893 detected the SPECC1 protein (arrow).)
Immunohistochemistry (IHC)
(Immunohistochemistry analysis in formalin fixed and paraffin embedded human brain tissue using MBS6001893 followed by peroxidase conjugation of the secondary antibody and DAB staining. This data demonstrates the use of SPECC1 Antibody (Center) for immunohistochemistry. Clinical relevance has not been evaluated.)
Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS)
(Flow Cytometry analysis of HL-60 cells using MBS6001893 (right histogram) compared to a negative control cell (left histogram). FITC-conjugated goat-anti-rabbit secondary antibodies were used for the analysis.)
Immunofluorescence (IF)
(Confocal immunofluorescent analysis of U-251MG cells using MBS6001893 followed by Alexa Fluor 488-conjugated goat anti-rabbit lgG (green). Actin filaments have been labeled with Alexa Fluor555 phalloidin (red). DAPI was used to stain the cell nuclear (blue).)
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
This gene encodes a coiled-coil domain containing protein. The encoded protein may play a critical role in actin-cytoskeletal reorganization during facial morphogenesis. Mutations in this gene are a cause of oblique facial clefting-1. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding multiple isoforms have been observed for this gene. A read-through transcript composed of SPECC1L (sperm antigen with calponin homology and coiled-coil domains 1-like) and the downstream ADORA2A (adenosine A2a receptor) gene sequence has been identified, but it is thought to be non-coding. [provided by RefSeq, Jun 2013]
Uniprot Description
Function: Involved in cytokinesis and spindle organization. May play a role in actin cytoskeleton organization and microtubule stabilization and hence required for proper cell adhesion and migration. Ref.10
Subunit structure: May interact with both microtubules and actin cytoskeleton.
Subcellular location: Cytoplasm › cytoskeleton. Cytoplasm › cytoskeleton › spindle. Cell junction › gap junction. Note: Colocalizes with acetylated alpha-tubulin, gamma-tubulin and F-actin. Also observed in a ring around gamma-tubulin containing centrioles possibly in the microtubule organizing center. Ref.10
Involvement in disease: Facial clefting, oblique, 1 (OBLFC1) [MIM:600251]: A rare form of facial clefting. A facial cleft is any of the fissures between the embryonic prominences that normally unite to form the face.Note: The disease is caused by mutations affecting the gene represented in this entry. Ref.10
Sequence similarities: Belongs to the cytospin-A family.Contains 1 CH (calponin-homology) domain.

The SPECC1 specc1l (Catalog #AAA6350470) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The SPECC1, ID (SPECC1L, CYTSA, KIAA0376, Cytospin-A, Renal carcinoma antigen NY-REN-22, Sperm antigen with calponin homology and coiled-coil domains 1-like) (MaxLight 490) reacts with Human, Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's SPECC1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS), FLISA, Immunofluorescence (IF), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Western Blot (WB). FC/FACS: 1:10-50 FLISA: 1:1,000 IF: 1:10-50 IHC: 1:10-50 WB: 1:100-500 Applications are based on unconjugated antibody. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the SPECC1 specc1l for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "SPECC1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
