Related Product Information for anti-SNAP29 antibody
This gene, a member of the SNAP25 gene family, encodes a protein involved in multiple membrane trafficking steps. Two other members of this gene family, SNAP23 and SNAP25, encode proteins that bind a syntaxin protein and mediate synaptic vesicle membrane docking and fusion to the plasma membrane. The protein encoded by this gene binds tightly to multiple syntaxins and is localized to intracellular membrane structures rather than to the plasma membrane. While the protein is mostly membrane-bound, a significant fraction of it is found free in the cytoplasm. Use of multiple polyadenylation sites has been noted for this gene.

Uniprot Description

SNAP29: Involved in multiple membrane trafficking steps. Defects in SNAP29 are the cause of CEDNIK syndrome (CEDNIK). CEDNIK is a neurocutaneous syndrome characterized by cerebral dysgenesis, neuropathy, ichthyosis and palmoplantar keratoderma. Belongs to the SNAP-25 family.

Protein type: Vesicle

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 22q11.21

Cellular Component: SNARE complex; centrosome; neuron projection; cytoplasm; plasma membrane; synapse; cell junction

Product Notes

The SNAP29 snap29 (Catalog #AAA2527975) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The SNAP29 Polyclonal Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's SNAP29 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). IHC: 1:30-1:150. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the SNAP29 snap29 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "SNAP29, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
