Human plasma Sm (Smith) Antigen Polyclonal Antibody

Human anti Sm Antigen

Applications
Immunodiffusion, ELISA
Purity
Single donor human plasma is delipidized and defibrinated. An immunoglobulin fraction is then precipitated and collected.
Synonyms
Sm (Smith) Antigen; Polyclonal Antibody; Human anti Sm Antigen; Human Antibody to Sm (Smith) Antigen; anti-Sm (Smith) Antigen antibody
Ordering
For Research Use Only!
Host
Human plasma
Clonality
Polyclonal
Specificity
Shows the Sm precipitate band when tested using double immunodiffusion against rabbit thymus extract. Specificity is verified by identity of precipitation with CDC-AF reference serum. Anti-RNP precipitant is also detected. Titer will vary with test system; however, undiluted antibody shows a strong Sm precipitate band. Exhibits no reactivity at a dilution of 1:100 when tested against purified SSB, Scl-70 and Jo-1 antigens in an ELISA system designed to detect all IgG subclasses. Anti-RNP and low levels of anti-SSA activity are detected in this ELISA system.
Purity/Purification
Single donor human plasma is delipidized and defibrinated. An immunoglobulin fraction is then precipitated and collected.
Form/Format
Purified, Lyophilized
Reconstitute with 2ml deionized water.
Applicable Applications for anti-Sm (Smith) Antigen antibody
Immunodiffusion, ELISA.
Application Notes
Suitable for use in Immunodiffusion and ELISA. Each laboratory should determine an optimum working titer for use in its particular application. Other applications have not been tested but use in such assays should not necessarily be excluded.
Buffer
Lyophilized from 0.01 M Phosphate, 0.13 M Sodium Chloride, pH 7.2.
Preservative
0.02% Sodium Azide (prior to lyophilization).
Lyophilized
Yes
Important Note
Centrifuge before opening to ensure complete recovery of vial contents.
Warnings
This product contains sodium azide, which has been classified as Xn (Harmful), in European Directive 67/548/EEC in the concentration range of 0.1 - 1.0 %. When disposing of this reagent through lead or copper plumbing, flush with copious volumes of water to prevent azide build-up in drains.
Preparation and Storage
Store at < or = 0ºC. Avoid multiple freeze/thaw cycles.

Product Notes

The Sm (Smith) Antigen (Catalog #AAA315463) is an Antibody produced from Human plasma and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. AAA Biotech's Sm (Smith) Antigen can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunodiffusion, ELISA. Suitable for use in Immunodiffusion and ELISA. Each laboratory should determine an optimum working titer for use in its particular application. Other applications have not been tested but use in such assays should not necessarily be excluded. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the Sm (Smith) Antigen for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Sm (Smith) Antigen, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
