Related Product Information for anti-SLC29A1 antibody
This gene is a member of the equilibrative nucleoside transporter family. The gene encodes a transmembrane glycoprotein that localizes to the plasma and mitochondrial membranes and mediates the cellular uptake of nucleosides from the surrounding medium. The protein is categorized as an equilibrative (as opposed to concentrative) transporter that is sensitive to inhibition by nitrobenzylthioinosine (NBMPR). Nucleoside transporters are required for nucleotide synthesis in cells that lack de novo nucleoside synthesis pathways, and are also necessary for the uptake of cytotoxic nucleosides used for cancer and viral chemotherapies. Multiple alternatively spliced variants, encoding the same protein, have been found for this gene.

NCBI Description

This gene is a member of the equilibrative nucleoside transporter family. Multiple alternatively spliced variants, encoding the same protein, have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

SLC29A1: Mediates both influx and efflux of nucleosides across the membrane (equilibrative transporter). It is sensitive (ES) to low concentrations of the inhibitor nitrobenzylmercaptopurine riboside (NBMPR) and is sodium-independent. It has a higher affinity for adenosine. Inhibited by dipyridamole and dilazep (anticancer chemotherapeutics drugs). Belongs to the SLC29A/ENT transporter (TC 2.A.57) family.

Product Notes

The SLC29A1 slc29a1 (Catalog #AAA3221548) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The SLC29A1 Antibody - N-terminal region reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's SLC29A1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the SLC29A1 slc29a1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The amino acid sequence is listed below: Synthetic peptide located within the following region: MTTSHQPQDR YKAVWLIFFM LGLGTLLPWN FFMTATQYFT NRLDMSQNVS. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "SLC29A1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
