Related Product Information for anti-SF3B1 antibody
This gene encodes subunit 1 of the splicing factor 3b protein complex. Splicing factor 3b, together with splicing factor 3a and a 12S RNA unit, forms the U2 small nuclear ribonucleoproteins complex (U2 snRNP). The splicing factor 3b/3a complex binds pre-mRNA upstream of the intron's branch site in a sequence independent manner and may anchor the U2 snRNP to the pre-mRNA. Splicing factor 3b is also a component of the minor U12-type spliceosome. The carboxy-terminal two-thirds of subunit 1 have 22 non-identical, tandem HEAT repeats that form rod-like, helical structures. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms. [provided by RefSeq].

Uniprot Description

SF3B1: subunit of the splicing factor SF3B required for 'A' complex assembly formed by the stable binding of U2 snRNP to the branchpoint sequence (bps) in pre-mRNA. Sequence independent binding of SF3A/SF3B complex upstream of the branch site is essential, it may anchor U2 snRNP to the pre-mRNA. May also be involved in the assembly of the 'E' complex. Belongs also to the minor U12-dependent spliceosome, which is involved in the splicing of rare class of nuclear pre-mRNA intron. Phosphorylated during the splicing catalytic steps.

Protein type: Spliceosome; RNA-binding; RNA splicing

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 2q33.1

Cellular Component: nucleoplasm; spliceosome; nuclear speck; nucleus; U12-dependent spliceosome

Molecular Function: protein binding; chromatin binding

Biological Process: anterior/posterior pattern formation; nuclear mRNA splicing, via spliceosome; RNA splicing, via transesterification reactions; RNA splicing; gene expression

Product Notes

The SF3B1 sf3b1 (Catalog #AAA6346530) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The SF3B1, NT (SF3B1, SAP155, Splicing factor 3B subunit 1, Pre-mRNA-splicing factor SF3b 155kD subunit, Spliceosome-associated protein 155) (Azide free) (HRP) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's SF3B1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunohistochemistry (IHC), ELISA (EIA), Western Blot (WB). IHC: 1:10-50 ELISA: 1:1,000 WB: 1:100-500 Applications are based on unconjugated antibody. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the SF3B1 sf3b1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "SF3B1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
