This is a rabbit polyclonal antibody against SAP30. It was validated on Western Blot using a cell lysate as a positive control.

Target Description: Histone acetylation plays a key role in the regulation of eukaryotic gene expression. Histone acetylation and deacetylation are catalyzed by multisubunit complexes. SAP30 is a component of the histone deacetylase complex, which includes SIN3, SAP18, HDAC1, HDAC2, RbAp46, RbAp48, and other polypeptides. This complex is active in deacetylating core histone octamers, but inactive in deacetylating nucleosomal histones. Histone acetylation plays a key role in the regulation of eukaryotic gene expression. Histone acetylation and deacetylation are catalyzed by multisubunit complexes. The protein encoded by this gene is a component of the histone deacetylase complex, which includes SIN3, SAP18, HDAC1, HDAC2, RbAp46, RbAp48, and other polypeptides. This complex is active in deacetylating core histone octamers, but inactive in deacetylating nucleosomal histones. A pseudogene of this gene is located on chromosome 3.

Uniprot Description

SAP30: Involved in the functional recruitment of the Sin3- histone deacetylase complex (HDAC) to a specific subset of N-CoR corepressor complexes. Capable of transcription repression by N- CoR. Active in deacetylating core histone octamers (when in a complex) but inactive in deacetylating nucleosomal histones. Belongs to the SAP30 family.

Protein type: Nuclear receptor co-regulator

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 4q34.1

Cellular Component: nucleoplasm; histone deacetylase complex

Molecular Function: protein binding; DNA binding; metal ion binding; transcription corepressor activity

Biological Process: establishment and/or maintenance of chromatin architecture; regulation of transcription, DNA-dependent; transcription, DNA-dependent; negative regulation of gene expression, epigenetic; gene expression; negative regulation of transcription from RNA polymerase II promoter; regulation of gene expression, epigenetic

Product Notes

The SAP30 sap30 (Catalog #AAA3204057) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The SAP30 antibody - N-terminal region reacts with Cow, Dog, Guinea Pig, Human, Mouse, Rabbit, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's SAP30 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the SAP30 sap30 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The amino acid sequence is listed below: Synthetic peptide located within the following region: MNGFTPDEMS RGGDAAAAVA AVVAAAAAAA SAGNGTGAGT GAEVPGAGAV. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "SAP30, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
