Rabbit RTN4IP1 Polyclonal Antibody | anti-RTN4IP1 antibody
RTN4IP1 antibody - middle region
Target Description: This gene encodes a novel mitochondrial protein that interacts with reticulon 4, which is a potent inhibitor of regeneration following spinal cord injury. The interaction of reticulon 4 with mitochondrial proteins may provide insight into the mechanisms for reticulon-induced inhibition of neurite growth.
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
This gene encodes a mitochondrial protein that interacts with reticulon 4, which is a potent inhibitor of regeneration following spinal cord injury. This interaction may be important for reticulon-induced inhibition of neurite growth. Mutations in this gene can cause optic atrophy 10, with or without ataxia, cognitive disability, and seizures. There is a pseudogene for this gene on chromosome 12. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Jan 2016]
Uniprot Description
RTN4IP1: Appears to be a potent inhibitor of regeneration following spinal cord injury. Belongs to the zinc-containing alcohol dehydrogenase family. Quinone oxidoreductase subfamily. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.
Protein type: Mitochondrial
Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 6q21
Cellular Component: mitochondrion
