NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
This gene encodes a cell surface receptor for macrophage-stimulating protein (MSP) with tyrosine kinase activity. The mature form of this protein is a heterodimer of disulfide-linked alpha and beta subunits, generated by proteolytic cleavage of a single-chain precursor. The beta subunit undergoes tyrosine phosphorylation upon stimulation by MSP. This protein is expressed on the ciliated epithelia of the mucociliary transport apparatus of the lung, and together with MSP, thought to be involved in host defense. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms with different structural and biochemical properties have been described (PMID:8816464). [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2011]
Uniprot Description
Ron: a receptor tyrosine kinase of the Met family. Receptor for macrophage stimulating protein. Can be desensitized by c-Cbl and its binding partner Grb2. Overexpression of wild-type RON causes the formation of lung tumors. Two alternatively spliced isoforms have been described.

Product Notes
The MST1R mst1r (Catalog #AAA9209603) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The RON Antibody reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's RON can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), ELISA (EIA). WB~~1:1000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the MST1R mst1r for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "RON, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
