Related Product Information for anti-RHOC antibody
This gene encodes a member of the Rho family of small
GTPases, which cycle between inactive GDP-bound and active
GTP-bound states and function as molecular switches in signal
transduction cascades. Rho proteins promote reorganization of the
actin cytoskeleton and regulate cell shape, attachment, and
motility. The protein encoded by this gene is prenylated at its
C-terminus, and localizes to the cytoplasm and plasma membrane. It
is thought to be important in cell locomotion. Overexpression of
this gene is associated with tumor cell proliferation and
metastasis. Multiple alternatively spliced variants, encoding the
same protein, have been identified.

Uniprot Description

RHOC: a small G protein of the Rho family. Regulates a signal transduction pathway linking plasma membrane receptors to the assembly of focal adhesions and actin stress fibers. Controls the reorganization of actins into podosomes. Serves as a target for the yopT cysteine peptidase from Yersinia pestis, vector of the plague, and Yersinia pseudotuberculosis, which causes gastrointestinal disorders.

Protein type: Motility/polarity/chemotaxis; G protein, monomeric, Rho; G protein, monomeric; G protein

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 1p13.1

Cellular Component: plasma membrane; cytosol; nucleus; cleavage furrow

Molecular Function: signal transducer activity; protein binding; GTP binding

Biological Process: axon guidance; regulation of small GTPase mediated signal transduction; positive regulation of I-kappaB kinase/NF-kappaB cascade; apical junction assembly; small GTPase mediated signal transduction; cytokinesis

Product Notes

The RHOC rhoc (Catalog #AAA9207637) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The immunogen sequence is 102-130. The RHOC Antibody (C-term) reacts with Human (Predicted Reactivity: Bovine, Mouse) and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's RHOC can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), ELISA (EIA), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). WB~~1:1000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the RHOC rhoc for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "RHOC, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
