NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of the PIAS (protein inhibitor of activated STAT) family of proteins. The encoded protein regulates the activity of various transcription factors, including the androgen receptor, Smad3/4, and p53. The encoded protein may also play a role in sumoylation. A translocation between this locus on chromosome 10 and the protein tyrosine kinase ABL1 locus on chromosome 9 has been associated with acute lymphoblastic leukemia. [provided by RefSeq, Mar 2010]

Uniprot Description

RAI17: Increases ligand-dependent transcriptional activity of AR and promotes AR sumoylation. The stimulation of AR activity is dependent upon sumoylation. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Transcription, coactivator/corepressor; Nuclear receptor co-regulator

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 10q22.3

Cellular Component: nucleoplasm; intracellular membrane-bound organelle; cytoplasm; nuclear speck

Molecular Function: zinc ion binding

Biological Process: heart morphogenesis; developmental growth; positive regulation of fibroblast proliferation; transcription, DNA-dependent; in utero embryonic development; vitellogenesis; artery morphogenesis; cell aging; positive regulation of transcription from RNA polymerase II promoter; vasculogenesis

Product Notes

The ZMIZ1 zmiz1 (Catalog #AAA3015522) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Retinoic acid induced 17 Polyclonal Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat, Chicken, Dog, Pig, Cow, Horse, Sheep and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Retinoic acid induced 17 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunohistochemistry-Paraffin (IHC-P), Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS/FCM). IHC-P: 1:100-500 IHC-F: 1:100-500 FC/FACS/FCM: 1ug/Test. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the ZMIZ1 zmiz1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Retinoic acid induced 17, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
