Related Product Information for anti-RBPJK antibody
Recombination signal binding protein Jkappa (RBP-Jkappa), also designated KBF2 or CBF1, is the mammalian homolog of the Drosophila suppressor of hairless (Su(H)), a protein involved in the development of the peripheral nervous system. RBP-Jkappa is ubiquitously expressed in mammalian tissues and is involved in the regulation of gene expression. RBP-Jkappa has been shown to directly interact with the intercellular domain of the cell surface receptor Notch 1. Proteolytically cleaved Notch 1 translocates to the nucleus, where it binds DNA-bound RBP-Jkappa and activates transcription of target genes. These genes include NFkappaB p52 and the Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) protein EBNA-2, both of which contain RBP-Jkappa-binding sequences within their promoter regions.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is a transcriptional regulator important in the Notch signaling pathway. The encoded protein acts as a repressor when not bound to Notch proteins and an activator when bound to Notch proteins. It is thought to function by recruiting chromatin remodeling complexes containing histone deacetylase or histone acetylase proteins to Notch signaling pathway genes. Several transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene, and several pseudogenes of this gene exist on chromosome 9. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2013]

Product Notes

The RBPJK rbpj (Catalog #AAA3013354) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The RBPJK Polyclonal Antibody reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's RBPJK can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB). WB: 1:1,000-1:5,000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the RBPJK rbpj for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "RBPJK, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
