Related Product Information for anti-RDX antibody
Radixin is a cytoskeletal protein that may be important in linking actin to the plasma membrane. It is highly similar in sequence to both ezrin and moesin. The radixin gene has been localized by fluorescence in situ hybridization to 11q23. A truncated version representing a pseudogene (RDXP2) was assigned to Xp21.3. Another pseudogene that seemed to lack introns (RDXP1) was mapped to 11p by Southern and PCR analyses.

NCBI Description

Radixin is a cytoskeletal protein that may be important in linking actin to the plasma membrane. It is highly similar in sequence to both ezrin and moesin. The radixin gene has been localized by fluorescence in situ hybridization to 11q23. A truncated version representing a pseudogene (RDXP2) was assigned to Xp21.3. Another pseudogene that seemed to lack introns (RDXP1) was mapped to 11p by Southern and PCR analyses. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, May 2012]

Uniprot Description

Radixin: a cytoskeletal protein of the ERM family which includes ezrin and moiesin. ERM proteins appear to function as cross-linkers between plasma membranes and actin-based cytoskeletons. May play a crucial role in the binding of the barbed end of actin filaments to the plasma membrane.

Protein type: Motility/polarity/chemotaxis; Cytoskeletal

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 11q23

Cellular Component: extracellular space; focal adhesion; T-tubule; ruffle; stereocilium; extrinsic to membrane; cytoskeleton; lamellipodium; apical part of cell; cytoplasm; plasma membrane; filopodium; cleavage furrow

Molecular Function: protein binding; actin binding

Biological Process: microvillus biogenesis; apical protein localization; actin filament capping

Disease: Deafness, Autosomal Recessive 24

Product Notes

The RDX rdx (Catalog #AAA5312015) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. AAA Biotech's Radixin can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunofluorescence (IF), Immunocytochemistry (ICC), Immunohistochemistry (IHC) Paraffin, Western Blot (WB). IF: 1:100-1:500 ICC: 1:100-1:500 IHC-P: 1:100-1:500 WB: 1:1000-1:10000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the RDX rdx for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Radixin, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
