Related Product Information for anti-Ras-related protein Rab-5 antibody
The Rab family of GTP-binding proteins are members of the Ras superfamily of small G proteins, and participate in multiple steps of the membrane trafficking. Rab3A participates in the fusion of synaptic vesicles during neurotransmitter release, a process regulated by GDP/GDP exchange cofactors such as GAP, GDI, GRF, and rabphilin. Rab4 regulates recycling of proteins from the early endosome to the surface of many cell types, regulating glucose transporter and transferrin receptor cell surface localization. Rab5 regulates the fusion of plasma membrane-derived clathrin-coated vesicles with early endosomes and homotypic fusion among early endosomes.

Uniprot Description

RAB5A: Required for the fusion of plasma membranes and early endosomes. Contributes to the regulation of filopodia extension. Binds EEA1. Interacts with RIN1 and GAPVD1, which regulate its pathway, probably by acting as a GEF. Interacts with ALS2CL, RABEP1, SUN2, ZFYVE20 and RUFY1. Interacts with SGSM1 and SGSM3. Interacts with PIK3CB. Regulated by guanine nucleotide exchange factors (GEFs) which promote the exchange of bound GDP for free GTP. Belongs to the small GTPase superfamily. Rab family.

Product Notes

The Ras-related protein Rab-5 rab5a (Catalog #AAA565208) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The RAB5 polyclonal antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat, Bovine, Dog, Guinea pig, Hamster, Monkey and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's RAB5 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunocytochemistry (ICC), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Western Blot (WB). Western Blot (1:1,000, ECL) Suggested dilutions/conditions may not be available for all applications. Detects a band of ~26kDa by Western blot. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the Ras-related protein Rab-5 rab5a for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "RAB5, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
