Related Product Information for anti-PTPalpha antibody
Tyrosine protein phosphatase which is involved in integrin-mediated focal adhesion formation (By similarity). Following integrin engagement, specifically recruits BCAR3, BCAR1 and CRK to focal adhesions thereby promoting SRC-mediated phosphorylation of BRAC1 and the subsequent activation of PAK and small GTPase RAC1 and CDC42 (By similarity).

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the protein tyrosine phosphatase (PTP) family. PTPs are known to be signaling molecules that regulate a variety of cellular processes including cell growth, differentiation, mitotic cycle, and oncogenic transformation. This PTP contains an extracellular domain, a single transmembrane segment and two tandem intracytoplasmic catalytic domains, and thus represents a receptor-type PTP. This PTP has been shown to dephosphorylate and activate Src family tyrosine kinases, and is implicated in the regulation of integrin signaling, cell adhesion and proliferation. Three alternatively spliced variants of this gene, which encode two distinct isoforms, have been reported. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

PTPRA: a receptor protein tyrosine phosphatase (PTP). Contains an extracellular domain, a single transmembrane segment and two tandem intracytoplasmic catalytic domains. Dephosphorylates and activates Src family tyrosine kinases, and is implicated in the regulation of integrin signaling, cell adhesion and proliferation. Four alternatively spliced isoforms have been reported.

Product Notes

The PTPalpha ptpra (Catalog #AAA9612563) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The PTP alpha Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's PTP alpha can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Peptide ELISA (EIA). WB: 1:500-1:2000 Peptide ELISA: 1:20,000-1:40,000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the PTPalpha ptpra for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "PTP alpha, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
