Related Product Information for anti-PSAT1 antibody
PSAT1 Antibody, EPIP Antibody, Phosphoserine aminotransferase Antibody, PSA Antibody, PSAT Antibody Description: PSAT1 is a member of the class-V pyridoxal-phosphate-dependent aminotransferase family. The encoded protein is a phosphoserine aminotransferase and decreased expression may be associated with schizophrenia. Mutations in this gene are also associated with phosphoserine aminotransferase deficiency. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. Pseudogenes of this gene have been defined on chromosomes 1, 3, and 8.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of the class-V pyridoxal-phosphate-dependent aminotransferase family. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2013]

Uniprot Description

PSAT1: Catalyzes the reversible conversion of 3- phosphohydroxypyruvate to phosphoserine and of 3-hydroxy-2-oxo-4- phosphonooxybutanoate to phosphohydroxythreonine. Defects in PSAT1 are the cause of phosphoserine aminotransferase deficiency (PSATD). PSATD is characterized biochemically by low plasma and cerebrospinal fluid concentrations of serine and glycine and clinically by intractable seizures, acquired microcephaly, hypertonia, and psychomotor retardation. Belongs to the class-V pyridoxal-phosphate-dependent aminotransferase family. SerC subfamily. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: EC 2.6.1.52; Amino Acid Metabolism - glycine, serine and threonine; Transferase; Cofactor and Vitamin Metabolism - vitamin B6

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 9q21.2

Cellular Component: cytoplasm; cytosol

Molecular Function: phosphoserine transaminase activity

Biological Process: amino acid biosynthetic process; L-serine biosynthetic process; pyridoxine biosynthetic process

Disease: Neu-laxova Syndrome 2; Phosphoserine Aminotransferase Deficiency

Product Notes

The PSAT1 psat1 (Catalog #AAA2400241) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-PSAT1 Antibody (aa48-328) IHC-plus reacts with Mouse, Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's PSAT1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunohistochemistry (IHC) Paraffin, Immunocytochemistry (ICC), Western Blot (WB). ICC (1:100 - 1:1000) IHC-P (5 ug/ml) WB (1:500 - 1:3000). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the PSAT1 psat1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "PSAT1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
