Specificity
This item recognizes mouse Peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor alpha (PPAR ALPHA), a 52.2kDa transcription factor belonging to the nuclear hormone receptor (NR1) family.

Peroxisome proliferator-activated receptors are vital in the regulation of cellular differentiation, development and metabolism. PPARA is also the target of hypolipidemic fibrates, a class of drugs used in cholesterol disorders.

PPARA alpha is expressed primarily in the liver, kidney, heart and skeletal muscle and is involved in the regulation of beta-oxidation of fatty acids.

ELISA (EIA), Immunohistology Paraffin*, Western Blot (WB)
Application Notes
ELISA: Maximum Dilution: 1/8000;
Immunohistology - Paraffin: Maximum Dilution: 20ug/ml; Application Note: This product requires antigen retrieval using heat treatment prior to staining of paraffin sections. Sodium citrate buffer pH 6.0 is recommended for this purpose.
Western Blotting: Maximum Dilution: 1/500
Perservative Stabilisers
0.01% Sodium Azide (NaN3)
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide corresponding to amino acids 1 to 18 of mouse PPAR alpha.
Histology Positive Control Tissue
Antiserum Preparation
Antiserum to mouse PPAR ALPHA was raised by repeated immunisation of rabbits with highly purified antigen. Purified IgG was prepared from whole serum by affinity chromatography.
Target Species
Mouse
Preparation and Storage
Store at 4 degree C or at -20 degree C if preferred. Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended. This product should be stored undiluted. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use.
Shelf Life: 18 months from date of despatch.

Uniprot Description

PPAR-alpha: Ligand-activated transcription factor. Key regulator of lipid metabolism. Activated by the endogenous ligand 1-palmitoyl- 2-oleoyl-sn-glycerol-3-phosphocholine (16:0/18:1-GPC). Activated by oleylethanolamide, a naturally occurring lipid that regulates satiety. Receptor for peroxisome proliferators such as hypolipidemic drugs and fatty acids. Regulates the peroxisomal beta-oxidation pathway of fatty acids. Functions as transcription activator for the ACOX1 and P450 genes. Transactivation activity requires heterodimerization with RXRA and is antagonized by NR2C2. Belongs to the nuclear hormone receptor family. NR1 subfamily.

Product Notes

The PPAR ALPHA ppara (Catalog #AAA222910) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The RABBIT ANTI PPAR ALPHA reacts with Chimpanzee, Human, Monkey and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's PPAR ALPHA can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Immunohistology Paraffin*, Western Blot (WB). ELISA: Maximum Dilution: 1/8000; Immunohistology - Paraffin: Maximum Dilution: 20ug/ml; Application Note: This product requires antigen retrieval using heat treatment prior to staining of paraffin sections. Sodium citrate buffer pH 6.0 is recommended for this purpose. Western Blotting: Maximum Dilution: 1/500. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the PPAR ALPHA ppara for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "PPAR ALPHA, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
