Rabbit anti-Human PNPLA1 Polyclonal Antibody | anti-PNPLA1 antibody
PNPLA1 antibody - middle region
Target Description: Human patatin-like phospholipases, such as PNPLA1, have been implicated in regulation of adipocyte differentiation and have been induced by metabolic stimuli (Wilson et al., 2006 [PubMed 16799181]).
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the patatin-like phospholipase (PNPLA) family, which is characterized by the presence of a highly conserved patatin domain. PNPLA family members have diverse lipolytic and acyltransferase activities, and are key elements in lipid metabolism. While other members of this family have been well characterized, the function of this gene remained an enigma. However, recent studies show that this gene is expressed in the skin epidermal keratinocytes, and has a role in glycerophospholipid metabolism in the cutaneous barrier. Consistent with these observations, mutations in this gene are associated with ichthyosis in human (autosomal recessive congenital ichthyoses, ARCI) and dog. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jun 2012]

Product Notes
The PNPLA1 pnpla1 (Catalog #AAA3209329) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The PNPLA1 antibody - middle region reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's PNPLA1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the PNPLA1 pnpla1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The amino acid sequence is listed below: Synthetic peptide located within the following region: QAPTSHRPSL GPSTVGAPQT LPRSSLSAFP AQPPVEELGQ EQPQAVALLV. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "PNPLA1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
