Related Product Information for anti-PLOD1 antibody
The PLOD1 gene is situated within a quantitative trait locus for the regulation of bone mineral density (BMD) on chromosome 1p36 and is a strong functional candidate for the regulation of BMD and bone quality. PLOD1 encodes the enzyme procollagen-lysine, 2-oxoglutarate 5-dioxygenase (lysyl hydroxylase; EC 1.14.11.4), which catalyzes the hydroxylation of lysine residues during the posttranslational modification of type I collagen, the major protein of bone. PLOD1 encodes the lysyl hydroxylase 1 enzyme responsible for hydroxylating lysyl residues in the collagen helix, which undergo glycosylation and form crosslinks in the extracellular matrix thus contributing to collagen fibril strength. PLOD1 is important for extracellular matrix formation and is involved in various diseases, including cancer. PLOD1 is highly expressed in gastrointestinal carcinoma and is a potential prognostic marker and therapeutic target.

Product Notes

The PLOD1 (Catalog #AAA8108914) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-PLOD1 Antibody, Rabbit Polyclonal reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's PLOD1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunoprecipitation (IP). WB: 1:500-1:2000 IP: 1-5uL/mg of lysate. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the PLOD1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "PLOD1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
