Applicable Applications for anti-PLGF antibody
ELISA (EIA), Immunohistology Paraffin*, Western Blot (WB)
Application Notes
ELISA: This purified human PLGF antibody may be used in an indirect ELISA or as the capture reagent in a sandwich ELISA with a biotinylated human PLGF antibody as the detection reagent and recombinant human PLGF as the standard.
Western Blot: This purified human PLGF antibody may be used in Western Blotting applications under either reducing or non-reducing conditions with recombinant human PLGF as the positive control.
ELISA: Minimum Dilution: 0.5; Maximum Dilution: 2.0ug/ml
Immunohistology - Paraffin: Maximum Dilution: 2.0ug/ml; Application Note: This product requires antigen retrieval using heat treatment prior to staining of paraffin sections. Sodium citrate buffer pH 6.0 is recommended for this purpose.

Western Blotting: Minimum Dilution: 0.1; Maximum Dilution: 0.2ug/ml
Reconstitution
Reconstitute with 0.1ml distilled water Care should be taken during reconstitution as the protein may appear as a film at the bottom of the vial. MyBioSource recommends that the vial is gently mixed after reconstitution. For long term storage the addition of 0.09% sodium azide is recommended.
Buffer Solution
Phosphate buffered saline
Antiserum Preparation
Antisera to human PlGF were raised by repeated immunisations of rabbits with highly purified antigen. Purified IgG was prepared from whole serum by affinity chromatography.
Target Species
Human
Preparation and Storage
Prior to reconstitution store at 4 degree C. After reconstitution store at -20 degree C. Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended. This product should be stored undiluted. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use.
Shelf Life: 12 months from date of reconstitution.

Related Product Information for anti-PLGF antibody
Rabbit anti human PlGF antibody recognizes human placental growth factor (PlGF). PlGF is a dimeric glycoprotein and member of the vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) family, involved in angiogenesis, and the stimulation of endothelial cell proliferation and migration. The three isoforms PlGF-1, PlGF-2 and PlGF-3 are present in most placental tissues and act through binding to the VEGFR-1/FLT1 receptor. The involvement of PlGF in angiogenesis has made PlGF a focus area in the study of inflammatory diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis and psoriasis, and PlGF is used as a biochemical marker in cardiovascular disease, and also detected at reduced levels during preeclampsia (Krauss et al. 2004).

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a growth factor found in placenta which is homologous to vascular endothelial growth factor. Alternatively spliced transcripts encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.[provided by RefSeq, Jun 2011]

Uniprot Description

PGF: Growth factor active in angiogenesis and endothelial cell growth, stimulating their proliferation and migration. It binds to the receptor FLT1/VEGFR-1. Isoform PlGF-2 binds NRP1/neuropilin-1 and NRP2/neuropilin-2 in a heparin-dependent manner. Also promotes cell tumor growth. Belongs to the PDGF/VEGF growth factor family. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes

The PLGF pgf (Catalog #AAA222860) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. AAA Biotech's PLGF can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Immunohistology Paraffin*, Western Blot (WB). Sodium citrate buffer pH 6.0 is recommended for this purpose. Western Blotting: Minimum Dilution: 0.1; Maximum Dilution: 0.2ug/ml. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the PLGF pgf for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "PLGF, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
