Related Product Information for anti-PLXNA2 antibody
Plexin A2 (also OCT) is a 220-230kD member of the plexin-A subfamily, plexin family of proteins. It is found on cerebellar granule cells, sensory neurons, and cardiac neural crest cells. It participates in cell migration and axon guidance, and does so by serving as a receptor for Sema6A and B, and as a coreceptor with neuropilin-1 for Sema3A and C. Mature mouse Plexin A2 is an 1860aa type I transmembrane glycoprotein. It contains a 1203aa extracellular domain (ECD) and a 636aa cytoplasmic region. The ECD contains one Sema-domain (aa40-481), three PSI domains (aa500-845) and four IPT regions (aa848-1226). There is one alternate start site 10aa upstream of the standard start site. Over aa25-1227, mouse Plexin A2 is 96% aa identical to human Plexin A2.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of the plexin-A family of semaphorin co-receptors. Semaphorins are a large family of secreted or membrane-bound proteins that mediate repulsive effects on axon pathfinding during nervous system development. A subset of semaphorins are recognized by plexin-A/neuropilin transmembrane receptor complexes, triggering a cellular signal transduction cascade that leads to axon repulsion. This plexin-A family member is thought to transduce signals from semaphorin-3A and -3C. [provided by RefSeq]

Uniprot Description

PLXNA2: Coreceptor for SEMA3A and SEMA6A. Necessary for signaling by SEMA6A and class 3 semaphorins and subsequent remodeling of the cytoskeleton. Plays a role in axon guidance, invasive growth and cell migration. Class 3 semaphorins bind to a complex composed of a neuropilin and a plexin. The plexin modulates the affinity of the complex for specific semaphorins, and its cytoplasmic domain is required for the activation of down- stream signaling events in the cytoplasm. Homodimer. The PLXNA2 homodimer interacts with a SEMA6A homodimer, giving rise to a heterotetramer. Interacts directly with NRP1 and NRP2. Interacts with RND1. Detected in fetal brain. Belongs to the plexin family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes

The PLXNA2 plxna2 (Catalog #AAA626726) is an Antibody produced from Goat and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Plexin A2 (PLXNA2, Plex 2, Plexin-2, KIAA0463) reacts with Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Plexin A2 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EL/EIA), Western Blot (WB), Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS). Dilution: ELISA:0.5-1ug/ml Western Blot:1ug/ml. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the PLXNA2 plxna2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Plexin A2, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
