NCBI Description

Soluble guanylate cyclases are heterodimeric proteins that catalyze the conversion of GTP to 3',5'-cyclic GMP and pyrophosphate. The protein encoded by this gene is an alpha subunit of this complex and it interacts with a beta subunit to form the guanylate cyclase enzyme, which is activated by nitric oxide. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jan 2012]

Uniprot Description

GUCY1A2: Has guanylyl cyclase on binding to the beta-1 subunit. Belongs to the adenylyl cyclase class-4/guanylyl cyclase family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Lyase; Nucleotide Metabolism - purine; EC 4.6.1.2; Guanylyl cyclase

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 11q21-q22

Cellular Component: cytoplasm

Molecular Function: guanylate cyclase activity; GTP binding; heme binding

Biological Process: cGMP biosynthetic process; positive regulation of cGMP biosynthetic process; blood coagulation; signal transduction

Product Notes

The GC-SA2 gucy1a2 (Catalog #AAA6479311) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Guanylate Cyclase alpha-2, Soluble, NT (Guanylate Cyclase Soluble Subunit alpha-2, Guanylate Cyclase 1 Soluble alpha 2, GCS-alpha-2, GC-SA2, GUC1A2, GUCSA2, GUCY1A2) (Biotin) reacts with Human, Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Guanylate Cyclase alpha-2, Soluble can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunohistochemistry (IHC), ELISA (EIA), Western Blot (WB). IHC: 1:50-1:100 ELISA: 1:1,000 WB: 1:50-1:200 Applications are based on unconjugated antibody. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the GC-SA2 gucy1a2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Guanylate Cyclase alpha-2, Soluble, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
