Related Product Information for anti-PISD antibody
This is a rabbit polyclonal antibody against PISD. It was validated on Western Blot

Target Description: Phosphatidylserine decarboxylases catalyze the formation of phosphatidylethanolamine (PE) by decarboxylation of phosphatidylserine (PS). Type I PSDs, such as PISD, are targeted to the inner mitochondrial membrane by an N-terminal targeting sequence. PISD also contains a conserved LGST motif that functions as an autocatalytic cleavage site where the proenzyme is split into mature alpha and beta subunits.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene catalyzes the conversion of phosphatidylserine to phosphatidylethanolamine in the inner mitochondrial membrane. The encoded protein is active in phospholipid metabolism and interorganelle trafficking of phosphatidylserine. [provided by RefSeq, May 2016]

Uniprot Description

PISD: Belongs to the phosphatidylserine decarboxylase family. Heterodimer. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing

Protein type: Endoplasmic reticulum; Lipid Metabolism - glycerophospholipid; Lyase; EC 4.1.1.65

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 22q12.2

Cellular Component: mitochondrion; nucleus

Molecular Function: phosphatidylserine decarboxylase activity

Biological Process: phospholipid metabolic process; glycerophospholipid biosynthetic process; phosphatidylethanolamine biosynthetic process

Product Notes

The PISD pisd (Catalog #AAA3216868) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The PISD Antibody - C-terminal region reacts with Cow, Dog, Guinea Pig, Horse, Human, Mouse, Rabbit, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's PISD can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the PISD pisd for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The amino acid sequence is listed below: Synthetic peptide located within the following region: MCTEDLPFPP AASCDSFKNQ LVTREGNELY HCVIYLAPGD YHCFHSPTDW. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "PISD, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
