Related Product Information for anti-PAK1 antibody
Rabbit anti Human PAK1 (pThr84) antibody recognizes PAK1 when phosphorylated at threonine 84. Serine/threonine-protein kinase PAK1 is an enzyme that in humans is encoded by the PAK1 gene. PAK proteins are critical effectors that link the Rho GTPases to cytoskeleton reorganization and nuclear signaling. PAK proteins are a family of serine/threonine p21-activated kinases and include PAK1-6. These proteins serve as targets for small GTP binding proteins such as OSR1. OSR1, oxidative stress response 1, is activated by osmotic stresses including sorbitol or NaCl. It has been predicted that OSR1 phosphorylates PAK1 in the regulatory domain at Thr84 and inhibits activation of the JNK and MAPK signaling pathway. PAK proteins also serve as targets for the small GTP binding proteins Cdc42 and Rac and have been implicated in a wide range of biological activities. PAK1 regulates cell motility and morphology.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a family member of serine/threonine p21-activating kinases, known as PAK proteins. These proteins are critical effectors that link RhoGTPases to cytoskeleton reorganization and nuclear signaling, and they serve as targets for the small GTP binding proteins Cdc42 and Rac. This specific family member regulates cell motility and morphology. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Apr 2010]

Uniprot Description

PAK1: a protein kinase of the STE20 family that regulates cell motility and morphology. Critical RhoGTPase effector that regulates cytoskeleton reorganization, the JNK MAPK pathway, and nuclear signaling. Binding of Rac/cdc42 to the PBD of PAK1 causes autophosphorylation and conformational change. Phosphorylated and activated by PDK.

Product Notes

The PAK1 pak1 (Catalog #AAA224936) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The RABBIT ANTI HUMAN PAK1 (pThr84) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's PAK1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the PAK1 pak1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "PAK1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
