Related Product Information for anti-CAF1 antibody
Chromatin assembly factor-1 (CAF-1) is a multisubunit protein complex that comprises three polypeptide subunits known as p150, p60, and p48. CAF-1 is a nucleosome assembly factor that deposits newly synthesized and acetylated histones H3/H4 into nascent chromatin during DNA replication. The p150 subunit of CAF-1 also supports the maintenance of heterochromatin, which requires the synthesis of both new histones and heterochromatin proteins and their orderly assembly during DNA replication. Heterochromatin is characterized as densely coiled chromatin that generally replicates late during S phase, has a low gene density, and contains large blocks of repetitive DNA that is relatively inaccessible to DNA-modifying reagents. In late S phase, p150 directly associates with heterochromatin associated proteins 1 (HP1alpha, HP1beta and HP1gamma). As cells prepare for mitosis, CAF-1 p150 and some HP1 progressively dissociate from heterochromatin, coinciding with the phosphorylation of histone H3. The HP1 proteins reassociate with chromatin at the end of mitosis, as histone H3 is dephosphorylated.

Uniprot Description

CAF-1B: Complex that is thought to mediate chromatin assembly in DNA replication and DNA repair. Assembles histone octamers onto replicating DNA in vitro. CAF-1 performs the first step of the nucleosome assembly process, bringing newly synthesized histones H3 and H4 to replicating DNA; histones H2A/H2B can bind to this chromatin precursor subsequent to DNA replication to complete the histone octamer. The CCR4-NOT complex functions as general transcription regulation complex. Belongs to the WD repeat HIR1 family.

Product Notes

The CAF1 chaf1b (Catalog #AAA3013191) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The p60 CAF1 Polyclonal Antibody reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's p60 CAF1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunocytochemistry (ICC), Immunofluorescence (IF), Immunoprecipitation (IP), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS). WB: 1:500-1:2,000 ICC: 1:50-1:200 IF: 1:50-1:100 IHC: 1:50-1:200 IP: 1:10-1:50 FC/FACS: 1:50-1:100. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CAF1 chaf1b for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "p60 CAF1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
