Ordering
For Research Use Only!
Host
Rabbit
Reactivity
Mouse (Expected from Sequence)
Clonality
Polyclonal
Isotype

Specificity
This item detects ovarian cancer G protein-coupled receptor 1 (OGR1), a seven pass transmembrane protein initially cloned from an ovarian cancer cell line. OGR1 has a wide expression, and selectively binds both protons and bioactive lipids.

OGR1 functions as a proton-sensing G protein-coupled receptor stimulating inositol phosphate production and Ca2+ mobilisation. It is also a receptor for sphingophosphorylcholine and related lysolipids, which antagonise the proton-induced actions mediated by OGR1.

OGR1 is also expressed early during osteoclastogenesis and plays a role in osteoclast differentiation.
Form/Format

Applicable Applications for anti-OGR1 antibody
Immunohistology Paraffin*
Application Notes
Immunohistology - Paraffin: Maximum Dilution: 20ug/ml; Application Note: This product requires antigen retrieval using heat treatment prior to staining of paraffin sections. Sodium citrate buffer pH 6.0 is recommended for this purpose.
Perservative Stabilisers
0.09% Sodium Azide (NaN3)
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide: N-terminal domain of human OGR1, conjugated to Keyhole Limpet Hemocyanin (KLH).
Histology Positive Control Tissue
Antiserum Preparation
Antisera to human OGR1 (NT) were raised by repeated immunisations of rabbits with highly purified antigen. Purified IgG prepared by affinity chromatography.
Target Species
Human
Preparation and Storage
Store at 4 degree C or at -20 degree C if preferred. Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended. This product should be stored undiluted. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use.
Shelf Life: 18 months from date of despatch.

Uniprot Description

GPR68: Proton-sensing receptor involved in pH homeostasis. May represents an osteoblastic pH sensor regulating cell-mediated responses to acidosis in bone. Mediates its action by association with G proteins that stimulates inositol phosphate (IP) production or Ca(2+) mobilization. The receptor is almost silent at pH 7.8 but fully activated at pH 6.8. Function also as a metastasis suppressor gene in prostate cancer. Belongs to the G-protein coupled receptor 1 family.

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 14q31

Cellular Component: integral to plasma membrane; plasma membrane

Molecular Function: G-protein coupled receptor activity

Biological Process: G-protein coupled receptor protein signaling pathway; negative regulation of monocyte differentiation; inflammatory response

Product Notes

The OGR1 gpr68 (Catalog #AAA222838) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The RABBIT ANTI HUMAN OGR1 (N-TERMINAL) reacts with Mouse (Expected from Sequence) and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's OGR1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunohistology Paraffin*. Immunohistology - Paraffin: Maximum Dilution: 20ug/ml; Application Note: This product requires antigen retrieval using heat treatment prior to staining of paraffin sections. Sodium citrate buffer pH 6.0 is recommended for this purpose. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the OGR1 gpr68 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "OGR1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
