The optimal dilutions should be determined by the end user.
IMPORTANT: For western blot, incubate membrane with diluted primary Abin 5% w/v milk , 1X TBS, 0.1% Tween®20 at 4°C with gentle shaking, overnight.
Western Blot (WB)
(Western blot analysis of 293T whole cell lysates, using OCA2 Antibody. The lane on the left is treated with the antigen-specific peptide.)
Immunohistochemistry (IHC)
(MBS9608076 at 1/100 staining Human cervical cancer tissue by IHC-P. The sample was formaldehyde fixed and a heat mediated antigen retrieval step in citrate buffer was performed. The sample was then blocked and incubated with the antibody for 1.5 hours at 22 degree C. An HRP conjugated goat anti-rabbit antibody was used as the secondary.)
Immunofluorescence (IF)
(IF staining Hela cells by IF/ICC. The samples were fixedwith PFA and permeabilized in 0.1% Triton X-100,then blockedin 10% serum for 45 minutes at 25°C. Samples were thenincubated with primary Ab(MBS9608076 1:200) and mouse anti-beta tubulin Ab(T0023 1:200) for 1 hour at 37°C. An AlexaFluor594 conjugated goat anti-rabbit IgG(H+L) Ab(Red)and an AlexaFluor488 conjugated goat anti-mouse IgG(H+L)Ab(Green) were used as the secondary antibody.)
Function: Could be involved in the transport of tyrosine, the precursor to melanin synthesis, within the melanocyte. Regulates the pH of melanosome and the melanosome maturation. One of the components of the mammalian pigmentary system. Seems to regulate the post-translational processing of tyrosinase, which catalyzes the limiting reaction in melanin synthesis. May serve as a key control point at which ethnic skin color variation is determined. Major determinant of brown and/or blue eye color.
Similarity: Belongs to the CitM (TC 2.A.11) transporter family.
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
Predicted: 93 kDa
NCBI Description
This gene encodes the human homolog of the mouse p (pink-eyed dilution) gene. The encoded protein is believed to be an integral membrane protein involved in small molecule transport, specifically tyrosine, which is a precursor to melanin synthesis. It is involved in mammalian pigmentation, where it may control skin color variation and act as a determinant of brown or blue eye color. Mutations in this gene result in type 2 oculocutaneous albinism. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2014]

Product Notes
The OCA2 oca2 (Catalog #AAA9608076) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The OCA2 Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's OCA2 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), ELISA (EIA). WB 1:500-1:2000 IHC 1:50-1:200 IF/ICC 1:100-1:500 ELISA(peptide) 1:20000-1:40000 The optimal dilutions should be determined by the end user. IMPORTANT: For western blot, incubate membrane with diluted primary Abin 5% w/v milk, 1X TBS, 0.1% Tween®20 at 4°C with gentle shaking, overnight. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the OCA2 oca2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "OCA2, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
