Related Product Information for anti-Oasl2 antibody
2-prime,5-prime oligoadenylates (2-5As) bind to and activate RNase L, leading to degradation of RNA and inhibition of protein synthesis. 2-5As are produced by 2-5A synthetases (OASs), a highly-conserved family of interferon-induced enzymes. The predicted 514aa human p59OASL (2-5A synthetases-like) protein shares a highly conserved N-terminal domain with other OASs. The C-terminal portion of p59OASL contains 2 ubiquitin-like domains. p59OASL is expressed in most tissues, with the highest levels in hematopoietic tissues, colon, and stomach.

Uniprot Description

Oasl2: Interferon-induced, dsRNA-activated antiviral enzyme which plays a critical role in cellular innate antiviral response. Synthesizes oligomers of 2'-5'-oligoadenylates (2-5A) from ATP which then bind to the inactive monomeric form of ribonuclease L (RNase L) leading to its dimerization and subsequent activation. Activation of RNase L leads to degradation of cellular as well as viral RNA, resulting in the inhibition of protein synthesis, thus terminating viral replication. Can mediate the antiviral effect via the classical RNase L-dependent pathway or an alternative antiviral pathway independent of RNase L. Belongs to the 2-5A synthase family.

Protein type: EC 2.7.7.84

Molecular Function: transferase activity; RNA binding; metal ion binding; double-stranded RNA binding; nucleotide binding; ATP binding; 2'-5'-oligoadenylate synthetase activity; nucleotidyltransferase activity

Biological Process: immune system process; response to virus; innate immune response; immune response; purine nucleotide biosynthetic process; defense response to virus

Product Notes

The Oasl2 oasl2 (Catalog #AAA630945) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The OASL, CT (59kD 2'-5'-oligoadenylate Synthase-like Protein, p59 OASL, p59OASL, Thyroid Receptor-interacting Protein 14, TR-interacting Protein 14, TRIP-14, TRIP14) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's OASL can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EL/EIA), Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot, and Immunohistochemistry. Dilution: ELISA: 1:1,000 Western Blot: 1:100-1:500 Immunohistochemistry: 1:50-1:100. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the Oasl2 oasl2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "OASL, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
