• Application Notes: Peptide ELISA: Antibody detection limit dilution 1: 32000.; Immunohistochemistry: In paraffin embedded Human Small Intestine shows staining of cytoplasm and membrane of enterocytes. Recommended concentration, 2-3ug/ml.; Western Blot: Approx.21kDa band observed in Human lysates of cell line A431 and of Rat Intestines (calculated MW of 21.2kDa according to NP_002515.1). In transfected HEK293 transiently expressing NRAS bands of approx.21kDa and 25kDa are observed. These bands are not observed in the non-transfected HEK293. Recommended concentration: 0.01-0.03ug/ml.

NCBI Description

This is an N-ras oncogene encoding a membrane protein that shuttles between the Golgi apparatus and the plasma membrane. This shuttling is regulated through palmitoylation and depalmitoylation by the ZDHHC9-GOLGA7 complex. The encoded protein, which has intrinsic GTPase activity, is activated by a guanine nucleotide-exchange factor and inactivated by a GTPase activating protein. Mutations in this gene have been associated with somatic rectal cancer, follicular thyroid cancer, autoimmune lymphoproliferative syndrome, Noonan syndrome, and juvenile myelomonocytic leukemia.
