Uniprot Description

NMDAR2A: a subunit of N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) receptors, members of the glutamate receptor channel superfamily. Possesses high calcium permeability and voltage-dependent sensitivity to magnesium and is modulated by glycine. Plays a key role in synaptic plasticity, synaptogenesis, excitotoxicity, memory acquisition and learning. Mediates neuronal functions in glutamate neurotransmission.

Product Notes

The NR2A grin2a (Catalog #AAA6490486) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The NR2A (Grin2a, Glutamate Receptor, ionotropic, NMDA2A (epsilon 1), GluRepsilon1, NMDAR2A, N-methyl D-aspartate Receptor subtype 2A) (APC) reacts with Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's NR2A can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunoprecipitation (IP), Western Blot (WB). IP: 4ug immunoprecipitates NR2A from rat brain hippocampus membranes and rat brain microsomal preparations. Applications are based on unconjugated antibody. WB: 0.5-2ug/ml detects NR2A (~170kD) in rat brain microsomal preparations. Rat brain microsomal preparation was resolved by electrophoresis, transferred to nitrocellulose and probed with. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the NR2A grin2a for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "NR2A, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
