Host
Rabbit
Reactivity
Human, Rat
Clonality
Polyclonal
Isotype
IgG
Specificity
This item recognises murine Noxa, an 11kDa member of the BH3-only proapoptotic protein family. Noxa is localised to the mitochondria and is a transcriptional target of p73, p53 and BH3-only proteins. It is thought to induce apoptosis when activated, lowering the activity of anti-apoptotic Bcl-2-like proteins. It can be upregulated by mitogenic activation, independently of p53. In humans, along with Mcl-1 it is thought to form a selective pathway that restrains lymphocyte proliferation.

Applicable Applications for anti-NOXA antibody
Immunohistology Paraffin*, Western Blot (WB)
Application Notes
Western Blot: This item detects a band of approximately 11kDa in human stomach cell lysates.
Immunohistology - Paraffin: Application Note: This product requires antigen retrieval using heat treatment prior to staining of paraffin sections. Sodium citrate buffer pH 6.0 is recommended for this purpose.
Western Blotting: Minimum Dilution: 0.5; Maximum Dilution: 1.0ug/ml
Perservative Stabilisers
0.02% Sodium Azide (NaN3)
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide corresponding to N-terminus of mouse NOXA.
Buffer Solution
Antiserum Preparation
Antisera to NOXA were raised by repeated immunisations of rabbits with highly purified antigen. Purified IgG prepared by affinity chromatography.
Target Species
Mouse
Preparation and Storage
Store at 4 degree C or at -20 degree C if preferred. Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended. This product should be stored undiluted. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use.
Shelf Life: 18 months from date of despatch.

Uniprot Description

NOXA: Promotes activation of caspases and apoptosis. Promotes mitochondrial membrane changes and efflux of apoptogenic proteins from the mitochondria. Contributes to p53/TP53-dependent apoptosis after radiation exposure. Promotes proteasomal degradation of MCL1. Competes with BAK1 for binding to MCL1 and can displace BAK1 from its binding site on MCL1. Competes with BIM/BCL2L11 for binding to MCL1 and can displace BIM/BCL2L11 from its binding site on MCL1. Interacts with MCL1, BCL2A1 and BAX. Up-regulated by p53/TP53, phorbol esters, double- stranded RNA, IFNB1/IFN-beta and viruses. Highly expressed in adult T-cell leukemia cell line. Belongs to the PMAIP1 family.

Product Notes

The NOXA pmaip1 (Catalog #AAA221324) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The RABBIT ANTI NOXA reacts with Human, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's NOXA can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunohistology Paraffin*, Western Blot (WB). Western Blotting: Minimum Dilution: 0.5; Maximum Dilution: 1.0ug/ml. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the NOXA pmaip1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "NOXA, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
