NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
This gene is a member of the Nod1/Apaf-1 family and encodes a protein with two caspase recruitment (CARD) domains and six leucine-rich repeats (LRRs). The protein is primarily expressed in the peripheral blood leukocytes. It plays a role in the immune response to intracellular bacterial lipopolysaccharides (LPS) by recognizing the muramyl dipeptide (MDP) derived from them and activating the NFKB protein. Mutations in this gene have been associated with Crohn disease and Blau syndrome. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been found for this gene. Product Notes
The NOD2 (Catalog #AAA6387229) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The NOD2 (Nucleotide-binding Oligomerization Domain-containing Protein 2, Caspase Recruitment Domain-containing Protein 15, Inflammatory Bowel Disease Protein 1, CARD15, IBD1, ACUG, BLAU, CLR16.3, PSORAS1) (Biotin) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's NOD2 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB). Applications are based on unconjugated antibody. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the NOD2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "NOD2, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
