Anti-NMDA Receptor, NR2A Subunit

Gene Names
Grin2a; NR2A; GluN2A; NMDAR2A
Applications
Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry, Immunoprecipitation, Dot Blot
Purity
Affinity Purified (Prepared from rabbit serum by affinity purification using a column to which the fusion protein immunogen was coupled)
Synonyms
NMDA NR2A Subunit (100 ul); Polyclonal Antibody; Anti-NMDA Receptor; NR2A Subunit; anti-GRIN2A antibody
Ordering
For Research Use Only!
Clonality
Polyclonal
Specificity
Specific for the ~180k NR2A subunit of the NMDA receptor. Recognizes human, mouse and rat forms of the NR2A subunit of NMDAR. No reactivity towards the NR2B and NR2C subunits. Immunolabeling is blocked by pre-adsorption of antibody with the fusion protein used to generate the antibody.
Purity/Purification
Affinity Purified (Prepared from rabbit serum by affinity purification using a column to which the fusion protein immunogen was coupled)
Form/Format
100 ul in 10 mM HEPES (pH 7.5), 150 mM NaCl, 100 ug BSA per ml and 50% glycerol. Adequate amount of material to conduct 10-mini Western Blots.
Sequence Length
1464
Applicable Applications for anti-GRIN2A antibody
Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunoprecipitation (IP), Dot Blots (DB)
Application Notes
Quality Control: Western blots performed on each lot.

WB: 1:1000
IHC: 1:1000
IP: 6 ul per 200 ug lysate
Preparation and Storage
For long term storage -80°C is recommended, but shorter term storage at -20°C is also acceptable as aliquots be taken withput freeze/thawing due to the presence of 50% glycerol. Solutions are stable for a minimum of up to 1 year at -20°C.

NCBI Description

may play a role in synaptic transmission, learning and memory [RGD, Feb 2006]

Uniprot Description

Function: NMDA receptor subtype of glutamate-gated ion channels possesses high calcium permeability and voltage-dependent sensitivity to magnesium. Activation requires binding of agonist to both types of subunits.

Subunit structure: Forms heteromeric channel of a zeta subunit (GRIN1), a epsilon subunit (GRIN2A, GRIN2B, GRIN2C or GRIN2D) and a third subunit (GRIN3A or GRIN3B). Found in a complex with GRIN1, GRIN3A and PPP2CB. Interacts with AIP1. Found in a complex with GRIN1 and GRIN3B. Interacts with HIP1 and NETO1. Interacts with SNX27 (via PDZ domain); the interaction is required for recycling to the plasma membrane when endocytosed and prevent degradation in lysosomes

By similarity. Interacts with PDZ domains of INADL and DLG4. Interacts with LRFN2. Ref.5 Ref.6 Ref.7 Ref.8 Ref.9 Ref.10 Ref.11 Ref.12

Subcellular location: Cell membrane; Multi-pass membrane protein. Cell junction › synapse › postsynaptic cell membrane; Multi-pass membrane protein Ref.8.

Sequence similarities: Belongs to the glutamate-gated ion channel (TC 1.A.10.1) family. NR2A/GRIN2A subfamily. [View classification]

Product Notes

The GRIN2A grin2a (Catalog #AAA502176) is an Antibody and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. AAA Biotech's NMDA NR2A Subunit (100 ul) can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunoprecipitation (IP), Dot Blots (DB). Quality Control: Western blots performed on each lot. WB: 1:1000 IHC: 1:1000 IP: 6 ul per 200 ug lysate. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the GRIN2A grin2a for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "NMDA NR2A Subunit (100 ul), Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
