Related Product Information for anti-NFkB p65 antibody
Rabbit anti Human NFkB p65 antibody recognizes the human Transcription factor p65, also known as Nuclear factor NF-kappa-B p65 subunit, NFkappaB p65, RelA or Nuclear factor of kappa light polypeptide gene enhancer in B-cells 3. NFkappaB p65 is a 551 amino acid ~65 kDa subunit of the NFkappaB transcription factor present in most cell types and is involved as the endpoint in an array of signal transduction events related to many processes including apotosis, immunity, inflammation and tumorigenesis. The most abundant form of NFkappaB appears to be the p65-p50 heterodimer. In the active form NFkappaB p65 is found in the nucleus co-localizing with the ATP-dependent RNA helicase DDX1. NFkappaB p65 is also found in an inactive form in the cytoplasm associated with the inhibitor IkappaB (UniProt: Q04206) In a gel supershift assay Rabbit anti Human NFkappaB p65 antibody was found to be active against all p65 containing human, mouse or rat NFkappaB complexes using 0.5ul to 1.0ul per assay. The binding of Rabbit anti Human NFkappaB p65 antibody to the NFkappaB p65 subunit can be blocked using the NFkappaB p65 control peptide (MBS237002).

NCBI Description

NF-kappa-B is a ubiquitous transcription factor involved in several biological processes. It is held in the cytoplasm in an inactive state by specific inhibitors. Upon degradation of the inhibitor, NF-kappa-B moves to the nucleus and activates transcription of specific genes. NF-kappa-B is composed of NFKB1 or NFKB2 bound to either REL, RELA, or RELB. The most abundant form of NF-kappa-B is NFKB1 complexed with the product of this gene, RELA. Four transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2011]

Uniprot Description

NFkB-p65: a subunit of NF-kappa-B transcription complex, which plays a crucial role in inflammatory and immune responses. The inhibitory effect of I-kappa-B upon NF-kappa-B in the cytoplasm is exerted primarily through the interaction with p65. P65 shows a weak DNA-binding site which could contribute directly to DNA binding in the NF-kappa-B complex. There are five NFkB proteins in mammals (RelA/NFkB-p65, RelB, c-Rel, NF-_B1/NFkB-p105, and NF-_B2/NFkB-p100). They form a variety of homodimers and heterodimers, each of which activates its own characteristic set of genes. Three splice-variant isoforms have been identified.

Product Notes

The NFkB p65 rela (Catalog #AAA222359) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The RABBIT ANTI NFkB p65 reacts with Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's NFkB p65 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Gel Super Shift Assays (GS), Immunofluorescence (IF), Immunoprecipitation (IP), Western Blot (WB). ELISA: Minimum Dilution: 1/5000; Maximum Dilution: 1/25000; Gel Super Shift Assays: Minimum Dilution: 0.5; Maximum Dilution: 1.0 ul per test; Western Blotting: Minimum Dilution: 1/2000; Maximum Dilution: 1/5000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the NFkB p65 rela for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "NFkB p65, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
