NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
The protein encoded by this gene is a receptor for neuropeptide Y and peptide YY. The encoded protein appears to be involved in regulating food intake, with defects in this gene being associated with eating disorders. Also, the encoded protein is involved in a pathway that protects neuroblastoma cells from chemotherapy-induced cell death, providing a possible therapeutic target against neuroblastoma. Three transcript variants encoding the same protein have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Nov 2015]
Uniprot Description
NPY5R: Receptor for neuropeptide Y and peptide YY. The activity of this receptor is mediated by G proteins that inhibit adenylate cyclase activity. Seems to be associated with food intake. Could be involved in feeding disorders. Belongs to the G-protein coupled receptor 1 family.

Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The amino acid sequence is listed below: GLSNKENRLE EN. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Neuropeptide Y receptor Y5, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
