Principle of the Assay||This kit was based on sandwich enzyme-linked immune-sorbent assay technology. anti-Human NPYR5 antibody was pre-coated onto 96-well plates. And the biotin conjugated anti-Human NPYR5 antibody was used as detection antibodies. The standards, test samples and biotin conjugated detection antibody were added to the wells subsequently, and wash with wash buffer. HRP-Streptavidin was added and unbound conjugates were washed away with wash buffer. TMB substrates were used to visualize HRP enzymatic reaction. TMB was catalyzed by HRP to produce a blue color product that changed into yellow after adding acidic stop solution. The density of yellow is proportional to the Human NPYR5 amount of sample captured in plate. Read the O.D. absorbance at 450nm in a microplate reader, and then the concentration of Human NPYR5 can be calculated.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is a receptor for neuropeptide Y and peptide YY. The encoded protein appears to be involved in regulating food intake, with defects in this gene being associated with eating disorders. Also, the encoded protein is involved in a pathway that protects neuroblastoma cells from chemotherapy-induced cell death, providing a possible therapeutic target against neuroblastoma. Three transcript variants encoding the same protein have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Nov 2015]

Uniprot Description

NPY5R: Receptor for neuropeptide Y and peptide YY. The activity of this receptor is mediated by G proteins that inhibit adenylate cyclase activity. Seems to be associated with food intake. Could be involved in feeding disorders. Belongs to the G-protein coupled receptor 1 family.

Protein type: Membrane protein, integral; Membrane protein, multi-pass; Receptor, GPCR; GPCR, family 1

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 4q31-q32

Cellular Component: cytoplasm; integral to plasma membrane; neuron projection; plasma membrane

Molecular Function: neuropeptide Y receptor activity; pancreatic polypeptide receptor activity; peptide YY receptor activity

Biological Process: cell surface receptor linked signal transduction; eating behavior; feeding behavior; G-protein coupled receptor protein signaling pathway; generation of ovulation cycle rhythm; negative regulation of apoptosis; negative regulation of glutamate secretion; negative regulation of synaptic transmission, GABAergic; neuropeptide signaling pathway; positive regulation of acute inflammatory response; positive regulation of smooth muscle cell proliferation; synaptic transmission

Product Notes

The Human NPYR5 npy5r (Catalog #AAA765469) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA765469 ELISA Kit recognizes Human NPYR5. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Neuropeptide Y Receptor Y5, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
