Related Product Information for anti-NLGN1 antibody
Neuroligin 1 is a synaptic cell-adhesion molecule that is enriched in postsynaptic densities where it may recruit receptors, channels, and signal-transduction molecules to synaptic sites of cell adhesion. In addition, the neuroligin/beta-neurexin junction may be involved in the excitatory/inhibitory specification of CNS neuron synapses. A role for Neuroligin 1 is also suggested in autism.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of a family of neuronal cell surface proteins. Members of this family may act as splice site-specific ligands for beta-neurexins and may be involved in the formation and remodeling of central nervous system synapses. [provided by RefSeq]

Uniprot Description

NLGN1: Cell surface protein involved in cell-cell-interactions via its interactions with neurexin family members. Plays a role in synapse function and synaptic signal transmission, and probably mediates its effects by recruiting and clustering other synaptic proteins. May promote the initial formation of synapses, but is not essential for this. In vitro, triggers the de novo formation of presynaptic structures. May be involved in specification of excitatory synapses. Belongs to the type-B carboxylesterase/lipase family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes

The NLGN1 nlgn1 (Catalog #AAA618878) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Neuroligin 1 (NLGN1) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Neuroligin 1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EL/EIA), Western Blot (WB). Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Dilution: ELISA: 1:100,000 using 50-100ng of N1260-01A control peptide/well Western Blot: 1-10ug/ml using ECL. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the NLGN1 nlgn1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Neuroligin 1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
