Unconjugated
Immunogen
NENF antibody was raised against a 15 amino acid synthetic peptide from near the carboxy terminus of human NENF.
Buffer
NENF Antibody is supplied in PBS containing 0.02% sodium azide.
Preparation and Storage
NENF antibody can be stored at 4 degree C for three months and -20 degree C, stable for up to one year. As with all antibodies care should be taken to avoid repeated freeze thaw cycles. Antibodies should not be exposed to prolonged high temperatures.

Related Product Information for anti-NENF antibody
NENF Antibody: NENF is a secreted protein that is expressed in neurons but not glial cells of the brain. This protein has neurotrophic activity in primary cultured mouse neurons but not mitogenic activity in primary cultured mouse astrocytes. NENF activated mitogen-activated protein (MAP) and phosphotidylinositol-3 kinase pathways and could be inhibited by pertussis toxin but not receptor tyrosine kinases, suggesting that NENF acts through a Gi/Go-protein-coupled receptor.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a neurotrophic factor that may play a role in neuron differentiation and development. A pseudogene of this gene is found on chromosome 12. Alternate splicing of this gene results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Jan 2009]

Uniprot Description

NENF: Displays neurotrophic activity and activates phosphorylation of MAPK1/ERK2, MAPK3/ERK1 and AKT1/AKT in primary cultured neurons. Does not have mitogenic activity in primary cultured astrocytes. May play a role on neuronal differentiation and may have a transient effect on neural cell proliferation in neural precursor cells. Neurotrophic activity is enhanced by binding to heme. Belongs to the cytochrome b5 family. MAPR subfamily.

Product Notes

The NENF nenf (Catalog #AAA150227) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The NENF Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's NENF can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunofluorescence (IF). NENF antibody can be used for detection of NENF by Western blot at 1 - 2 mug/mL. Despite its predicted molecular weight of ~20kDa, NENF is observed at 37 kDa in SDS-PAGE. Antibody can also be used for immunohistochemistry starting at 10 mug/mL. For immunofluorescence start at 20 mug/mL. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the NENF nenf for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "NENF, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
