Related Product Information for anti-MRP14 antibody
The family of EF-hand type Ca2+-binding proteins includes Calbindin (previously designated vitamin D-dependent Ca2+-binding protein), S-100 alpha and beta, Cal-granulins A (also designated MRP8), B (also designated MRP14) and C (S-100 like proteins) and the parvalbumin family members, including parvalbumin alpha and parvalbumin beta (also designated oncomodulin). Calbindin, S-100 proteins and parvalbumin proteins are each expressed in neural tissues. In addition, S-100 alpha and beta are present in a variety of other tissues and Calbindin is present in intestine and kidney. Parvalbumin alpha is also found in fast-contracting/ relaxing skeletal muscle fibers and parvalbumin beta is found in many tumor tissues as well as in the organ of Corti.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the S100 family of proteins containing 2 EF-hand calcium-binding motifs. S100 proteins are localized in the cytoplasm and/or nucleus of a wide range of cells, and involved in the regulation of a number of cellular processes such as cell cycle progression and differentiation. S100 genes include at least 13 members which are located as a cluster on chromosome 1q21. This protein may function in the inhibition of casein kinase and altered expression of this protein is associated with the disease cystic fibrosis. This antimicrobial protein exhibits antifungal and antibacterial activity. [provided by RefSeq, Nov 2014]

Uniprot Description

S100A9: a calcium-binding regulatory protein of the S-100 family expressed by macrophages in acutely inflammated tissues and in chronic inflammations. May be an inhibitor of protein kinases. Also expressed in epithelial cells constitutively or induced during dermatoses. May interact with components of the intermediate filaments in monocytes and epithelial cells. Interacts with CEACAM3 in a calcium-dependent manner.

Product Notes

The MRP14 s100a9 (Catalog #AAA3009316) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The MRP14 Polyclonal Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's MRP14 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). WB: 1:500-1:2000 IHC: 1:50-1:200. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the MRP14 s100a9 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "MRP14, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
