Related Product Information for anti-MGLL antibody
MAG Lipase is a lipase that functions together with hormone-sensitive lipase to hydrolyze intracellular triglyceride stores in adipocytes and other cell types to form fatty acids and glycerol. MAG lipase also works with lipoprotein lipase to hydrolyze monoglycerides resulting from degradation of lipoprotein triglycerides. It is localized in the enteric nervous system to function in the regulation of levels of endocannabinoids, and regulates intestinal motility and has a role in digestion.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a serine hydrolase of the AB hydrolase superfamily that catalyzes the conversion of monoacylglycerides to free fatty acids and glycerol. The encoded protein plays a critical role in several physiological processes including pain and nociperception through hydrolysis of the endocannabinoid 2-arachidonoylglycerol. Expression of this gene may play a role in cancer tumorigenesis and metastasis. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding multiple isoforms have been observed for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Feb 2012]

Uniprot Description

MGLL: Converts monoacylglycerides to free fatty acids and glycerol. Hydrolyzes the endocannabinoid 2-arachidonoylglycerol, and thereby contributes to the regulation of endocannabinoid signaling, nociperception and perception of pain. Regulates the levels of fatty acids that serve as signaling molecules and promote cancer cell migration, invasion and tumor growth. Belongs to the AB hydrolase superfamily. Monoacylglycerol lipase family.

Protein type: Phospholipase; Lipid Metabolism - glycerolipid; EC 3.1.1.23

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 3q21.3

Cellular Component: nucleoplasm; endoplasmic reticulum membrane; extrinsic to membrane; plasma membrane; synapse; cytosol

Molecular Function: protein homodimerization activity; acylglycerol lipase activity; lipid binding; lysophospholipase activity

Product Notes

The MGLL mgll (Catalog #AAA6003781) is an Antibody produced from Goat and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Monoglyceride Lipase, ID (MGLL, MGL, HU-K5, Lysophospholipase Homolog, Lysophospholipase-like, Monoacylglycerol Lipase, MAGL) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Monoglyceride Lipase can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EL/EIA), Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Dilution: ELISA: 1:32,000 Western Blot: 0.5-1.5ug/ml Immunohistochemistry (Formalin fixed paraffin embedded): 3.75ug/ml. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the MGLL mgll for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Monoglyceride Lipase, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
