Related Product Information for anti-MMP23 antibody
Description: MMP23B Protease. Belongs to the peptidase M10A family. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.
Function: Protease. May regulate the surface expression of some potassium channels by retaining them in the endoplasmic reticulum (By similarity).
Post-translational Modifications: N-glycosylated. Proteolytic cleavage might yield an active form.
Similarity: The ShKT domain associates with, and blocks several potassium channels in the nanomolar to low micromolar range. The relative affinity is Kv1.6 > Kv1.3 > Kv1.1 = Kv3.2 > Kv1.4 (By similarity). Belongs to the peptidase M10A family.

NCBI Description

This gene (MMP23B) encodes a member of the matrix metalloproteinase (MMP) family, and it is part of a duplicated region of chromosome 1p36.3. Proteins of the matrix metalloproteinase (MMP) family are involved in the breakdown of extracellular matrix in normal physiological processes, such as embryonic development, reproduction, and tissue remodeling, as well as in disease processes, such as arthritis and metastasis. This gene belongs to the more telomeric copy of the duplicated region. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

Protease. May regulate the surface expression of some potassium channels by retaining them in the endoplasmic reticulum ().

Product Notes

The MMP23 mmp23a (Catalog #AAA9600153) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The MMP23 Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's MMP23 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunofluorescence (IF), Immunocytochemistry (ICC), ELISA (EIA). WB: 1:500-1:3000 IF/ICC: 1:100-1:500. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the MMP23 mmp23a for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "MMP23, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
