NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
The protein encoded by this gene is involved in the translocation of cobalamin into the mitochondrion, where it is used in the final steps of adenosylcobalamin synthesis. Adenosylcobalamin is a coenzyme required for the activity of methylmalonyl-CoA mutase. Defects in this gene are a cause of methylmalonic aciduria. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Uniprot Description
MMAA: Probable GTPase. May function as chaperone. May be involved in the transport of cobalamin (Cbl) into mitochondria for the final steps of adenosylcobalamin (AdoCbl) synthesis. Defects in MMAA are the cause of methylmalonic aciduria type cblA (MMAA); also known as methylmalonic aciduria type A or vitamin B12-responsive methylmalonicaciduria of cblA complementation type. MMAA is a disorder of methylmalonate and cobalamin metabolism due to defective synthesis of adenosylcobalamin. Inheritance is autosomal recessive. Belongs to the ArgK family.

Product Notes
The MMAA mmaa (Catalog #AAA6003775) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The MMAA, NT (MMAA, Methylmalonic aciduria type A protein, mitochondrial) reacts with Human, Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's MMAA can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EL/EIA), Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). Suitable for use in Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry Dilution: ELISA: 1:1,000 Western Blot: 1:100-500 Immunohistochemistry: 1:50-100. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the MMAA mmaa for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "MMAA, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
