Related Product Information for anti-METTL14 antibody
The METTL3-METTL14 heterodimer forms a N6- methyltransferase complex that methylates adenosine residues of some mRNAs and regulates the circadian clock and differentiation of embryonic stem cells (PubMed:24316715, PubMed:24407421, PubMed:25719671, PubMed:27373337, PubMed:27281194). In the heterodimer formed with METTL3, METTL14 constitutes the RNA- binding scaffold that recognizes the substrate rather than the catalytic core (PubMed:27373337, PubMed:27281194). N6- methyladenosine (m6A), which takes place at the 5'-[AG]GAC-3' consensus sites of some mRNAs, plays a role in the efficiency of mRNA splicing, processing and mRNA stability (PubMed:24316715, PubMed:24407421, PubMed:25719671). M6A regulates the length of the circadian clock: acts as an early pace-setter in the circadian loop. M6A also acts as a regulator of mRNA stability: in embryonic stem cells (ESCs), m6A methylation of mRNAs encoding key naive pluripotency-promoting transcripts results in transcript destabilization (By similarity).

Uniprot Description

The METTL3-METTL14 heterodimer forms a N6-methyltransferase complex that methylates adenosine residues at the N6 position of some mRNAs and regulates the circadian clock, differentiation of embryonic stem cells and cortical neurogenesis (PubMed:24316715, PubMed:24407421, PubMed:25719671, PubMed:27373337, PubMed:27281194). In the heterodimer formed with METTL3, METTL14 constitutes the RNA-binding scaffold that recognizes the substrate rather than the catalytic core (PubMed:27627798, PubMed:27373337, PubMed:27281194). N6-methyladenosine (m6A), which takes place at the 5'-[AG]GAC-3' consensus sites of some mRNAs, plays a role in mRNA stability and processing (PubMed:24316715, PubMed:24407421, PubMed:25719671). M6A acts as a key regulator of mRNA stability by promoting mRNA destabilization and degradation (). In embryonic stem cells (ESCs), m6A methylation of mRNAs encoding key naive pluripotency-promoting transcripts results in transcript destabilization (). M6A regulates spermatogonial differentiation and meiosis and is essential for male fertility and spermatogenesis (). M6A also regulates cortical neurogenesis: m6A methylation of transcripts related to transcription factors, neural stem cells, the cell cycle and neuronal differentiation during brain development promotes their destabilization and decay, promoting differentiation of radial glial cells ().

Product Notes

The METTL14 mettl14 (Catalog #AAA9231311) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The METTL14 Antibody (N-Term) reacts with Human, Mouse Predicted: Bovine and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's METTL14 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), ELISA (EIA). WB: 1:2000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the METTL14 mettl14 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "METTL14, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
