NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is a serine/threonine kinase and is part of some signal transduction cascades, including the ERK and JNK kinase pathways as well as the NF-kappa-B pathway. The encoded protein is activated by autophosphorylation and requires magnesium as a cofactor in phosphorylating other proteins. This protein has E3 ligase activity conferred by a plant homeodomain (PHD) in its N-terminus and phospho-kinase activity conferred by a kinase domain in its C-terminus. [provided by RefSeq, Mar 2012]

Uniprot Description

Component of a protein kinase signal transduction cascade (PubMed:9808624). Activates the ERK and JNK kinase pathways by phosphorylation of MAP2K1 and MAP2K4 (PubMed:9808624). May phosphorylate the MAPK8/JNK1 kinase (PubMed:17761173). Activates CHUK and IKBKB, the central protein kinases of the NF-kappa-B pathway (PubMed:9808624).

Product Notes

The MAP3K1 map3k1 (Catalog #AAA9508632) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The MAP3K1 (Phospho-Thr1402) Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's MAP3K1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), ELISA (EIA). WB: 1:500~1:1000 IHC: 1:50~1:100 ELISA: 1:10000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the MAP3K1 map3k1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "MAP3K1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
