NCBI Description

This gene encodes a large protein containing numerous spectrin and leucine-rich repeat (LRR) domains. The encoded protein is a member of a family of proteins that form bridges between different cytoskeletal elements. This protein facilitates actin-microtubule interactions at the cell periphery and couples the microtubule network to cellular junctions. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants, but the full-length nature of some of these variants has not been determined. [provided by RefSeq, May 2013]

Uniprot Description

ACF7: a nuclear WD40-repeat protein. An F-actin-binding protein which may play a role in cross- linking actin to other cytoskeletal proteins. Also binds to microtubules. WD40 proteins are known to function as adaptors in pre-mrna processing and cytoskeleton assembly.

Protein type: Cytoskeletal; Motility/polarity/chemotaxis; Actin-binding

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 1p32-p31

Cellular Component: Golgi apparatus; microtubule; cytoskeleton; cytoplasm; plasma membrane; actin cytoskeleton

Molecular Function: actin filament binding; protein binding; microtubule binding; ATPase activity; calcium ion binding; actin binding

Biological Process: regulation of microtubule-based process; Wnt receptor signaling pathway; wound healing; mesoderm formation; metabolic process; positive regulation of axon extension; Golgi to plasma membrane protein transport; regulation of focal adhesion formation; establishment and/or maintenance of cell polarity; posttranslational protein targeting to membrane; cell cycle arrest; positive regulation of Wnt receptor signaling pathway

Product Notes

The MACF1 macf1 (Catalog #AAA5300445) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. AAA Biotech's MACF1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the MACF1 macf1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "MACF1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
