Biological Significance
The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the LAR protein-tyrosine phosphatase-interacting protein family. Liprins interact with members of LAR family of transmembrane protein tyrosine phosphatases, which are known to be important for axon guidance and mammary gland development. This protein binds to the intracellular membrane-distal phosphatase domain of tyrosine phosphatase LAR, and appears to localize LAR to cell focal adhesions. This interaction may regulate the disassembly of focal adhesion and thus help orchestrate cell-matrix interactions.
Cross-Reactivity
Human
Preparation and Storage
Store at 4 degree C for short term storage. Aliquot and store at -20 degree C for long term storage. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the LAR protein-tyrosine phosphatase-interacting protein (liprin) family. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been described. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

liprin alpha 1: a ubiqutous member of the LAR protein-tyrosine phosphatase-interacting protein (liprin) family. Two alternatively spliced isoforms have been described.

Product Notes

The PPFIA1 ppfia1 (Catalog #AAA837681) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. AAA Biotech's Liprin alpha 1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunofluorescence (IF), Immunocytochemistry (ICC), Western Blot (WB). IF:1:100-1:200 ICC:1:100-1:200 WB: 1:5000-1:20000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the PPFIA1 ppfia1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Liprin alpha 1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
