Related Product Information for anti-LCN2 antibody
Lipocalin-2 (LCN2), also known as neutrophil gelatinase-associated lipocalin (NGAL), 24p3, or neutrophil lipocalin (NL), is a 25-kDa secretory glycoprotein which is expressed in liver, lung, kidney, adipocytes, activated neutrophils, and macrophages. LCN2 appears to be upregulated inthe case of information and infection conditions. LCN2 has been implicated in a variety of cellular processes including the innate immune response, infection, differentiation, tumorigenesis and cell survival. It appears to be up- regulated in various inflammation and infection conditions. Several reports suggest that LCN2 may represent a sensitive biomarker for various renal and lung injuries and is associated with several types of cancers, including breast cancer, ovarian, colorectal and pancreatic cancers. Furthermore, serum levels of LCN2 are correlated with obesity, insulin resistance, hyperglycemia, coronary heart disease and fatty liver disease in humans. LCN2 is also high expressed underhigh fat diet and obese background especially in adipose tissue and is closely associated withobesity, insulin resistance, and hyperglycemia in humans.

NCBI Protein Information
neutrophil gelatinase-associated lipocalin

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a protein that belongs to the lipocalin family. Members of this family transport small hydrophobic molecules such as lipids, steroid hormones and retinoids. The protein encoded by this gene is a neutrophil gelatinase-associated lipocalin and plays a role in innate immunity by limiting bacterial growth as a result of sequestering iron-containing siderophores. The presence of this protein in blood and urine is an early biomarker of acute kidney injury. This protein is thought to be be involved in multiple cellular processes, including maintenance of skin homeostasis, and suppression of invasiveness and metastasis. Mice lacking this gene are more susceptible to bacterial infection than wild type mice. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2015]

Product Notes

The LCN2 (Catalog #AAA398032) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Lipocalin-2 (NGAL): Mouse, Rabbit polyclonal Antibody reacts with Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Lipocalin-2 (NGAL) can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), ELISA (EIA), Immunoprecipitation (IP), Immunostaining. WB: This antibody can be used as primaryantibody to detect mouse LCN2. ELISA: This antibody can be used in ELISA with the appropriate secondary reagents to detect mouse LCN2. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the LCN2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Lipocalin-2 (NGAL), Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
